About 11 kV Audio-Visual Soft Discharge & Earthing Rod
The 11 kV Audio-Visual Soft Discharge & Earthing Rod safely discharges residual, static or induced voltage from isolated lines, HT cables, transformers and other electrical equipment, minimising the risk of electric shock during shutdown and maintenance work.
Discharge current is limited through a built-in encapsulated resistor chain, so energy bleeds down in a controlled soft discharge rather than a violent arc. A high-visibility LED pair and a loud buzzer confirm the discharge to the operator, and an ON/OFF switch lets the indication be armed only when it is needed.
The pole is built on the same high-dielectric fibreglass / FRP platform as our live line testers, with a non-slip insulated grip, hand guard and sectional rods that extend up to 3 metres for overhead work.
