This innovative and advanced equipment is specially designed to enhance operator safety and operational efficiency during high-voltage maintenance work. It combines two essential safety functions into a single, compact and lightweight unit.
As an 11 kV live line indicator it accurately detects the presence of voltage in high-voltage lines and equipment, ensuring operator safety before any maintenance activity begins. Its built-in 11 kV soft discharge rod then safely discharges residual, static or induced voltage from isolated lines, HT cables, transformers and other electrical equipment, minimising the risk of electric shock.
The instrument is manufactured against the specific operational requirements of power utility safety departments using high-quality materials. It was provided to field utility staff for trials, and its performance was validated as highly satisfactory.
